Environment Philosophy and Safety Philosophy 9 Message Corporate Governance and Internal Control As exemplified by our Responsible Care activities, ZEON has always believed 10 CSR Promotion System 12 that a company is a social organization, and we have performed many corporate activities in the spirit of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). Performance From this year we will publish a CSR Report in order to place further Social Activity Performance emphasis on CSR and achieve our aim of being a company that is trusted by 2005 Topics 13 society and of which its employees can be proud, strengthening our Relationship with Customers 14 principles of “Speed”, “Dialogue” and “Social Contribution”. Quality Assurance, Chemical and Product Safety Management Relationship with the Local Community 16 ZEON is a manufacturer and in the past we have implemented a wide variety Relationship with Employees 17 of Responsible Care activities, which form the basis of this report. We have Creating a Motivated Workplace created a “Q&A” compliance training text as a part of our compliance system, Relationship with Shareholders and Investors 19 which is distributed to all employees in the ZEON group in Japan and all Environment and Safety Activity Performance Japanese employees who have been posted overseas, to further spread the Product Development 20 fundamental values of compliance. Activity Results 22 Safety and Accident Prevention 23 We hope that this report will help achieve CSR understanding within the Occupational Health and Safety 24 Performance ZEON group or stimulate questions about it, enabling us to devote ourselves PRTR Activities 25 to creating a company that is trusted by everyone. Toxic Chemicals and Waste 26 Air and Water 27 December 2006 Resource and Energy Conservation 29 Environment and Safety for Logistics 29 Report Policy Audits 30 This activity report was created in line with the following basic policy. Environment and Safety Training 31 (1) The report was written based on the CSR concepts and actions at ZEON. The report is based on past Environment Policy from an Economics Perspective 32 Responsible Care activities at ZEON, and the objective is to improve the satisfaction levels of all Environment Accounting Site Reports stakeholders. (2) We commissioned independent verification by the JRCC (Japan Responsible Care Council), in order to receive an evaluation of ZEON’s activities from a third party. Site Reports (3) Japanese affiliates with no production operations have also been included for the first time.
