Chargin Executive Director 2017-18 Annual Report– Catholic Diocese of Pueblo Foundation Honoring Bishop Arthur N. Tafoya By Steven Chargin, Executive Director Perhaps one of the most enduring aspects of Bishop Arthur Tafoya’s March 2, 1933– March 24, 2018 legacy will be the creation of the Catholic Diocese of Pueblo Foundation. As presently organized, Bishop Tafoya established the Catholic Foundation in 1995, and by the grace of God it has grown over the years in many and varied ways. Putting his love and care for the diocese into action, Bishop Tafoya wanted to be sure that there would always be a source of grant funds for all parishes, missions and other Catholic groups, particularly those in outlying areas where financial and material resources were scarce. By creating a fruitful partnership with so many generous donors over the years, the Catholic Foundation was able to help repair churches and schools, provide funding for religious education materials, assist immigrants, and offer our youth the opportunity to grow in their faith through numerous conferences and events. Little did Bishop Tafoya know that the seeds of faith he planted would turn into over Two Million Dollars in grant awards for these and many other programs. To honor Bishop Tafoya’s many years of dedication and service to the Catholic Foundation, we are proud to announce that our current legacy society will now be known as The Bishop Arthur N. Tafoya Legacy Society. It is our hope and prayer that many of the faithful will be inspired to leave a planned gift to the Catholic Foundation-just as Bishop Tafoya did. Whether by a Will, Trust or other means, a planned gift costs nothing during a person’s lifetime, but the benefits will last well beyond. Please take the opportunity to honor Bishop Tafoya by becoming a member of his Legacy Society today. The Catholic Foundation can help you with just about any type of planned gift, so please contact us and we will be happy to help you start planning your Catholic legacy. On behalf of all our Board of Directors, Executive Directors, staff and grant recipients, past and present, the Catholic Foundation will forever be grateful for Bishop Tafoya’s inspired leadership and vision. May he rest in God’s holy peace. 2017-18 Annual Report– Catholic Diocese of Pueblo Foundation We wish to recognize those individuals, past and present, who have designated the Catholic Foundation as a beneficiary of a legacy gift in a Will, Trust, Annuity or other planned giving instrument. With these simple planned gifts, members of the Bishop Tafoya Legacy Society members will help build our mission today and tomorrow. Please honor Bishop Tafoya by becoming a member of his Legacy Society today. Bishop Arthur N. Tafoya Legacy Society +Bishop Arthur N. Tafoya +Christine Berry John & Helen Heit +Rev. Louis C.
