YUJAWAN G, piano Twenty-sixyear old pianistYuja Wang is widely recognizedas one of the most importantarlists of her generation.Regularly lauded for her controlled,prodigious technique, Ms. Wanghas been praisedfor her authorityover the most complextechnical demands of the repertoire,the depthof her musicalinsight, as well as her fresh interpretationsand charismaticstage presence. Ms. Wang hasperformed with many of the world's prestigiousorchestras including thoseof Boston,Chicago and Los Angeles,and abroadwith the Berlin Staatskapelle,Israel and London Philharmonicsand the Royal ConcertgebouwOrchestra. Conductors with whom shehas collaboratedinclude Gustavo Dudamel,LorinMaazel and Zttbin Mehta. Ms. Wang regularly gives recitalsthroughout Asia, Europeand North America, and as a dedicatedperformer of chambermusic - appearsat summerchamber music festivals,including-an annual appearance at Switzerland'sVerbier Festival. Ms. Wang studiedat the CentralConservatory of Music in Beijing with Ling Yuan and Zhou Guangren,the Mount Royal Conseruatoryin Calgarywith Hung-Kuan Chen and TemaBlackstone, and the Curtis Instituteof Music in philadelphiawiih Gary Graffman. In 2006 shereceived the Gilmore YoungArtist Award, and in 2010 shereceived the prestigiousAvery Fisher CareerGrant. Ms. Wang is a SteinwayArlist. HAOCHENZHANG Sincehis gold medalwin at the ThirteenthVan Clibum InternationalPiano Competitionin 2009, 22-yeat-oldChinese pianist Haochen Zhanghas captivated audiences in the US, EuropeandAsia with a uniquecombination of deepmusical sensitiviry fearlessimagination and spectacular vitluosity.A passionateand insightful programmer,he cultivateshis reputationthrough major performancesand debutsevery year. Recent highlights include a sold-outrecital tour of Japan,a subscriptiondebut with LorinMaazel and the Munich Philharmonicfollowed by a tour of China with the orchestraand debutswith the SingaporeSymphony and JapanPhilharmonic.
