Moray's War Project Heads for Cullen

Jun 23, 2016 08:48 BST Moray's War project heads for Cullen The latest instalment in the four-and-a-half year Moray’s War project will take place at Cullen next month. The project, which is being led by Moray Council’s libraries service, coincides with the centenary of the First World War and tells the story of Moray and its people during the conflict. The Moray’s War team, in association with the Cullen, Deskford and Portknockie Heritage Group, will be showcasing some of the project’s findings to date at a roadshow in Cullen Memorial Hall on Saturday, July 9 from 12 noon to 4pm. It will include photographic displays, old weapons and artefacts and team members will be on hand to share information and answer questions. Admission is free and further information is available from Elgin library on 01343 562600 or by e-mailing [email protected] Moray’s War is part of the national Scotland’s War web-based project which is led by the University of Edinburgh. Moray Council area stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Forres in the west. The council and its 4,500 employees respond to the needs of 92,500 residents in this beautiful part of Scotland, which nestles between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands.
