Excursions Programme SATURDAY AFTERNOONS - €47 p/p The Marvellous Minervois Our afternoon begins in Caunes-Minervois, famous for its 8th Century abbey and the medieval village. Later we continue to the Gouffre de Cabrespine where we have two ‘son et lumière’ shows inside the chasm, surrounded by aragonites. Finally we make a visit to the jaw-dropping spectacle of the viewpoint at ‘les Quatres Châteaux de Lastours’, where we stand in awe at the incredible view. SUNDAYS, FULL DAY - €58 p/p Collioure & Narbonne We depart Carcassonne and journey along the Roussillon coastline in full view of the Pyrenees, to exquisite Collioure where we have plenty of free time and lunch at leisure. Later in the afternoon we return in the direction of home and make a stop in Roman Narbonne. Here we may see a section of the famous Roman road, the Canal de la Robine and the vast episcopal ensemble, which all make for a lovely last visit for the day. Guide and comfortable coach included in the price. MONDAYS, FULL DAY - €59 p/p Albi & Castres Our first visit of the day is to riverside Castres for a short stop. Later we continue to wonderful Albi - birthplace of Toulouse-Lautrec – with its dramatic cathedral of Sainte- Cécile dominating the scene. We allow plenty of free time and lunch at leisure before returning to Carcassonne later in the afternoon. Guide and comfortable coach included in the price. TUESDAYS, FULL DAY - €76 p/p Avignon and the Pont du Gard Today we journey to Provence! We make a comfort stop en route before arriving at the incredible Roman aqueduct – the Pont du Gard. After time to absorb the setting, make use of the visitor centre and perhaps have a coffee, we continue to the citadel of Avignon beside the mighty river Rhône. We allow plenty of free time here for shopping, to visit the Palace of the Popes etc., before we return home in time for dinner.
