The project site is located within the Infopark Phase-2 campus and in the Puthencruz Village, Vadavukode- Puthencruz Grama Panchayat, Ernakulam District. The project is being developed in the Infopark Special Economic Zone (a society wholly controlled by Government of Kerala) complex. The Infopark Phase-2 campus is declared as Industrial area by Govt. of Kerala. The topography of the site is low lying. For the site development, ordinary earth is required. A land is identified for in-sourcing of earth. The land for the project is leased to M/s Trans Asian Shipping Services Pvt. Ltd. by Infoparks Kerala for a period of 90 years. During construction phase, about 200 workers (daily average) will be at site. During operation phase on full occupancy of proposed complex, the maximum population expected is 2,812 persons (floating population) and hence there is increase in the intensity of land use. Also, from the site where the ordinary earth will be in-sourced, clearance of existing vegetation will be carried out. 1.3 Creation of new land uses? Yes The proposed site is earmarked for the development of I.T. Building within Infopark campus. It is proposed to construct I.T. Building along with supporting infrastructure. The site from where the ordinary earth would be in-sourced, eco-restoration would be carried out. 1.4 Pre-construction investigations Yes Pre-construction Soil Investigation has e.g. bore houses, soil testing? been carried out for the site. As per the bore-hole soil investigation report, the water table is at 0.10 m. below the ground level. As per investigation, the upper layer of the soil upto 2.70 – 5.30 m below ground level is very soft clay, 5.30 m to 8.70 m lateritic clayey sand, 8.70 m to 11.30 m medium dense clayey sand, 11.30 m to 11.50 there is soft rock and below 11.50 m hard rock is encountered. 1.5 Construction works? Operation phase :- Solid waste generation will be about 822 Kg/day and which will be collected separately as Bio-degradable and Non- biodegradable waste as per the MSW Rules, 2000.
