ORIENTATION SEMINAR ON BARANGAY DRUG CLEARING PROGRAM IN BASULTA AREA For the month in review (August 2017), several orientation seminars on Barangay Drug Clearing Program were conducted in different municipalities in the provinces of Sulu and Basilan. This is in compliance with the pronouncement of President Duterte to clear the barangays from the menace of illegal drugs, in coordination with their respective local government operations officers from the DILG, local government units, municipal health units and the Philippine National Police in their locality. Common discussions during the orientation includes the National Drug Situation, the Barangay Drug Clearing Program as stipulated in Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No. 3, Series of 2017, the Role and Responsibilities of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils in the Drug Clearing Operations as enumerated in the DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2015-063, the Community-Based Rehabilitation and the documentary requirements for barangay drug-cleared application. Common participants to the said orientation include the Barangay Captains, Barangay Councilmen (Chair on Peace and Order), Barangay Councilmen (Chair on Women and Family) and the barangay secretaries. Some orientations were followed by the conduct of drug test to all participants facilitated by the Laboratory Section of PDEA 9. 1 Talipao, Sulu – August 16, 2017 This orientation was held at Multi-purpose Gymnasium, Bilaan (Poblacion), Talipao, Sulu and this was participated by BADAC members from the municipalities of Talipao, Panamao, Panglima Estino, Kalinggalan Caluang, Luuk and Omar. 2 Jolo, Sulu – August 17, 2017 Orientation Seminar on Barangay Drug Clearing Program held at Multi- purpose Gymnasium, Jolo, Sulu. This was participated by BADAC members of all eight (8) barangays of Jolo. Lamitan City, Basilan – August 22, 2017 In pictures, RD Aspacio of PDEA RO9 and Mayor Kerkhar Tan of Jolo, Sulu gave their messages respectively, prior to the proper orientation. 3 Lamitan City, Basilan – AUGUST 24, 2017 Orientation Seminar on Barangay Drug Clearing Program held at Datu Dizal Cultural Center, Lamitan City, Basilan. This was attended by BADAC members of the municipalities of Lamitan City, Akbar, Hji. Muhtamad, Moh. Ajul, Tuburan and Al-Barka. 4 Isabela City, Basilan – August 24, 2017 Orientation Seminar on Barangay Drug Clearing Program held at Basilan State College Gymnasium, Isabela City, Basilan. This was attended by BADAC members of the municipalities of Maluso, Tipo-Tipo, Sumisip, Tabuan Lasa, Ungkaya Pukan and Lantawan. 5 Isabela City, Basilan – August 25, 2017 Orientation Seminar on Barangay Drug Clearing Program held at Basilan General Hospital, Isabela City, Basilan.
