Auchinloch Community Council 2nd September 2015 Present: Alastair Moodie, Edward Topping, Halcyon Martin, Susan Ross, Susan Keys, Jack Keys, Myrtle Marshall, Dorothy Moodie, Andrea McDowall, Doug Macguire, Margaret Macguire, Main Macintosh, Anne Cairney, John Ralston, Elsbeth Smith, Eleanor Bain, Cara Duguid. 1. Previous minutes were read and approved. 2. Matters Arising: The CC would like to say a big thank to Mairi for all her hard work over the last 7 years for Auchinloch Community Council. Everyone wishes her good luck and best wishes for her house move. She has been a valued member of the CC and will be missed. Main in response expressed her sadness at moving away and hopes the community spirit of Auchinloch continues to flourish. 3. Correspondence: thSept − There is going to be a meeting on Wed 16 from 10.30−4pm to discuss ways in how to 'create a fairer Scotland'. Alastair has the details if anyone would like to attend. −The nominations are in for the Community Council elections. There are 7 nominations for 7 spaces so an election for positions is not anticipated. The nominations are as follows; Halcyon Martin, Myrtle Marshall, Susan Keys, Steven coDuguid,−opt Alastair Moodie, Andrea McDowall and Carol−Anne Nicol. It is possible to a further 7 members. It would be good to have some representation from the Gadloch and across all age groups. If you know of anyone that might be interested please bring them along. John Wilson (Green Party) sent a message about a meeting in Chryston High School on 3rd Sept to discuss fracking. 4. Events: The afternoon tea held in May was very well attended and raised £323. A great amount for the community. 5. Village News Letter: Daniella has been working on a new one. She is looking for articles. If you have anything to contribute please give to Dãniella or Alastair. An article asking for more council members should be included to encourage more members. 6. AOCB: Local planning applications farm buildings. − proposed development on Burnbrae Road based on the existing The developers have asked for permission to build an additional house to make the development more financially viable before proceeding. If you have any objections get in touch quick because time is running out. cabin the bottom of the − Stewart Mime has applied to put a temporary sales at Pheasant car park until the show home and office are built. Builders are still not on site but this may be due to problems with the sale of the land. the old − Alastair has been trying to speak to the directors of Lenzie Estates about park ground and they have not been responding. He has approached the Kirkintilloch Herald about this matter and they have printed a very good article regarding this. He has also reported them to the charities regulator. The idea is to take control of this land for the good of the community and develop it in any way that could enhance our area. The land was apparently gifted by John Duncan to Lenzie Estates in 1937 to be used for the recreational benefit of the community. We need to find more proof of this to present and fight our case. Any information would be great. −The Boundaries Commission are proposing a change in the council ward boundary that will result in communities being split. This does not directly affect Auchinloch however it was felt that the CC should express the need to keep communities together and decisions should not be made purely on numbers. Alastair is going to draft some points to put forward by the 22nd Oct. − Work has been completed to repair the damage to the golf course path after the winter storms. The path has been put forward for another award by the Saltire Society. − The issue of too much weed killer being used in and around the village was raised. John Ralston will contact council to discuss along with the cleaning of the car parks. John also highlighted the need for a bus service to Chryston. This would need to be raised with the SPT. No decision was taken as who would move this issue forward. −There is a visit to Parliament next week some of the CC members are attending the First Ministers question time. −Next Meeting: Changed to 14th Oct due to council business −Alastair will change let date.
