Accompanying himself on banjo, guitar and squeezeboxes, he is a great solo performer of traditional English ballads, sea songs, songs of love, lust and laughter, and about every aspect of the rich English tradition. From New Jersey: Interstate 80 to exit 34B (Rte 15 N). Take Rte 15 N about 16 miles north to Rte 206. Continue going straight onto Rte 206. Go another 15 miles to Rte 521 split on right. Take Rte 521 to end, about 6 miles. At light turn left onto Rte 6 and follow directions as above. By Bus or Train: Please check departure schedules. Take Shortline/Coach USA bus to Pt. Jervis. Stay at the rear of the train and exit the station towards the Northeast corner of Queens Boulevard. Take the Q 46 bus (This is the first stop and it will only go in one direction) to Utopia Parkway. Get off the bus in front of Citibank, walk towards Utopia Parkway. Without crossing any streets at this point, make a left turn onto Utopia Parkway and walk two blocks to 80th Drive. Turn left on 80th Drive, walk one block to Tryon Place, turn right, look for our house on the left side of the street. By car via LIE: From Manhattan go to Utopia Parkway exit. Turn right on Utopia Parkway and go about 2 miles to Union Turnpike. Go two blocks past Union Turnpike to 80th Drive; turn left. Go one block; turn right onto Tryon Place. House is on left. From Long Island go to Utopia Parkway exit and turn left onto Utopia Parkway.Follow directions above. SINGING PARTY; Sunday, August 26th; noon Pot luck picnic on the front lawn of Jean Ritchie & George Pickow in Port Washington, Long Island. Party starts at noon, goes to whenever we get tired of singing or Jean & George throw us out. Bring songs, instruments, voices, and a dish to share for at least six people.
