Last Year Our Former Marketing Partner, Mega Maldives Korea (“MMK”), Made a Series of Bad Decisions That Harmed Many Passengers and Travel Agents

We feel you deserve to know how this happened and our plans to try to make things right. MMK is an independent company set up by a Korean businessman to market and promote non-stop flights between Seoul and Maldives on our airline. In their enthusiasm to quickly develop this market they sold seats on proposed MEGA Maldives Airlines flights without securing a contract with us, the airline, to actually operate these flights. While we had good intentions to sign up with MMK to operate these flights, we were unable to match our available capacity with their desired flight schedule and start date. We offered other schedules, which they rejected. We recommended they find another airline to operate the route, with our cooperation, until such time as we could meet their demand. They agreed, but asked us to operate some of the initial flights in their schedule. After detailed study, we found a way to fly the first two round trips, but only these two flights and nothing more. This was made very clear to MMK in advance. MMK arranged several additional flights to Maldives on Korean Air but was unable to develop any other plan to continue operating the flights. On September 29th they stranded approximately 200 passengers in Maldives (who had flown down earlier on an MMK chartered Korean Air flight) with no return trip arrangement confirmed in advance. The next day they cancelled their next departure flight with less than one day notice and all other MMK arranged flights to the Maldives. Many innocent travelers and business partners were hurt by MMK’s careless behavior. MEGA Maldives Airlines feels deeply saddened by this situation. We feel shame and sorrow that our image was used by MMK to sell flights that were not really there or properly authorized. We now know a lot of vacations and honeymoon trips were ruined by the actions of MMK. We also know many agents and passengers lost not only money, but also time, opportunity, and special moments of their lives. We ourselves were not compensated for part of the flights that we flew for MMK and for other services we provided to MMK. We feel something must be done to correct this tragic situation. We deeply regret that MMK used our relationship with them to cause so much harm to so many people. Thus we have selected a new commercial partner, one with deep understanding and experience in the travel business to Maldives. This partner, Roomallot Korea, has a long and successful history of selling Maldives. In fact, this is their primary business since 2004. They were the first company to develop charter flights to Maldives from Korea in 2010. In short, they care about this market and operating a long term business. MEGA Maldives Airlines and Roomallot Korea are cooperating to rebuild this market and correct the wrong actions of MMK. With our agreement and support, Roomallot Korea has been collecting passengers harmed by MMKs actions and preparing compensation for them if they have not received anything from MMK. We want to assist in making things right, as much as we can, even though we know we cannot correct the wrong done by MMK. LETTER OF APOLOGY-Korea Market Page 2 Our new partnership will take every care to ensure a smooth and successful operation. We now have dedicated capacity to operate flights from Korea starting in late August this year. You may also like to know that we also operate scheduled services to 4 cities in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Chongqing) and plan to expand to several more this year. Our operating record over the past twelve months is good with respectable on-time performance and no unplanned cancellations. Our customers regularly complement us on our Maldivian hospitality onboard and everyone likes our non-stop flights and great schedules that offer passengers longer stays for the same money and the most convenient departure and arrival times. Our slogan is “Paradise in Reach,” and truly we make it easier than ever to visit the Maldives, that most amazing of all island destinations. We know our initial step into the Korean market wasn’t with the right agent, and we apologize for our inexperience in selecting and managing our former partner. We have learned from our experience and are committed to the smart and stable development of this market. Sincerely, George Weinmann CEO MEGA Maldives Airlines Mega Global Air Services (Maldives) Pvt. Ltd. .
