DEDICATION OF WOODROW WILSON MONUMENT PRAGUE - OCTOBER 5, 2011 AMERICAN FRIENDS OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC, A WASHINGTON, DC, BASED NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, IS REBUILDING, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CAPITAL CITY OF PRAGUE AND THE METROPOLITAN DISTRICT OF PRAGUE 1, THE MONUMENT TO AMERICAN PRESIDENT WOODROW WILSON AT THE MAIN TRAIN STATION IN PRAGUE. THE MONUMENT WAS BUILT IN 1928 BUT DESTROYED IN 1941. WILSON DEDICATION WEEK - EVENTS IN PRAGUE Tuesday - October 4, 2011 Morning – Woodrow Wilson, Tomáš Masaryk and their Historic Partnership – Opening of the historical exhibition at the New Building of the Czech National Museum. st Afternoon (1:30pm) – Symposium: The Legacy of Wilson and Masaryk in the 21 Century, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Czernin Palace. Evening (7pm) — Award Dinner and Reception at the Rudolfinum, attended by prominent dignitaries and business leaders and featuring the inaugural presentation of the Masaryk-Wilson Peace and Democracy Award. Wednesday - October 5, 2011 Morning (11am) — Dedication of Woodrow Wilson Monument featuring remarks by U.S. and Czech officials, musical and military tributes, and the formal unveiling of the Monument and the Walk of Freedom.
