T. Koti Reddy In India, there are millions of children who attend school, (as many as 84 per cent ofchildren in villages attend Government schools) sit on the floor in the class rooms in the most unhygienic conditions without school desks. These children spend almost seven hours in the school sitting on the floor which affects not only their posture but also their growth. Children sitting on the floor and reading & writing are prone to get back ache & neck pain.It is advisable for children to sit on dual desks rather than sitting on the floor as it can lead to curvature of the spine getting deformed in their growing age. The solution is only providing dual desks for children to sit. By providing them we are not only making the children comfortable but the attendance in the class rooms will also increase and the children will have the opportunity to learn in a better environment.
