ADDRESS 67B Whitipirorua Road, Onemana, Whangamata 2982 Note: do not use this address for Google Maps - the directions are incorrect. Please use the written directions below to get to Wharekawa Farm. CHECK IN & OUT Check in: 3.00pm - 7.00pm (or later by arrangement) Check out: 11.00am THINGS TO BRING: • Food, and whatever you fancy drinking • Warm clothing – especially if you want to soak up the evening stars • Shoes or boots suitable for walking on the property • Toiletries, including insect repellent and sunscreen • Togs and towels for swimming www.canopycamping.co.nz DIRECTIONS & ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS Wharekawa Farm is about 2 hours from Auckland and 15 minutes from Whangamata on the Coromandel Peninsula. From Auckland: • Head South on State Highway 2 and head towards Thames on State Highway 25. Follow State Highway 25 and 25A towards Whangamata. • About 5km before Whangamata, turn off SH 25 towards Onemana. This is Whitipirorua Road. Travel for 400m along Whitipirorua Road, then take a hard left onto a forestry road just as Whitipirorua road bends to the left and rises sharply towards Onemana. • This forestry road is called Norman’s Access Road. You’ll see a sign with this road name, a red letterbox marked 67B and a forestry gate. • Go through the gate which is unlocked. Please close it behind you at all times. (Note that this road is marked on google maps as Rangipo Road which is incorrect). • Travel for 6km on Norman’s Access Road with lights on, at a maximum speed of 50km. Be prepared to meet oncoming traffic. • When you enter Wharekawa Farm, pass the large barn and carry on a short distance towards a smaller dark grey shed. Opposite this shed and yard is a track marked ‘HUT’. Go up this track and park beside the beautiful pohutukawa tree. www.canopycamping.co.nz From Tauranga or Hamilton: • Head North on State Highway 2 towards Waihi. At Waihi take State Highway 25 to Whangamata. • About 5km past Whangamata, turn off SH 25 towards Onemana. This is Whitipirorua Road.
