I understand the reasons for this, but feel that it would fragment the region from a social and traditional cultural point of view. I believe that these boundaries, around the Colac, Camperdown, Lakes district, Lake Corangamite that bind our communities to the lands and waters of this region, could be better redistributed and be returned to the seat of Corangamite. I put forward to retain the name of the Federal seat of Corangamite to continue to honour, acknowledge and respect the Gulidjan people, as one of the first tribes of our local region that has been in our region since federation and pre European settlement. Regardless, I object to the loss of the name of Corangamite and would like to see that it's name is retained as part of any federal redistribution process of the Australian Electoral Commission. I fully support the new 39th Federal seat to be called the seat of Tucker - Proposed boundaries being from the Bellarine Peninsular, to the urban growth corridors around Torquay, Geelong, Corio, Golden Plains and towards Ballarat. I would feel very sorry for our first Australian tribes of the Corangamite south west region of Victoria, if they lose their traditional name of their cultural heritage of their land and country. Your Sincerely, Andy McClusky Lorne, Corangamite I acknowledge the Gulidjan, Gadubanud, Djargurd Wurrung, Girai Wurrung people, Eastern Marr and Wadawurrung Nations as the traditional owners and custodians within the present federal seat of "Corangamite" region. I pay my respects to their Ancestors and Elders, past, present and emerging. I recognise and respect all cultural heritage, beliefs and relationship to their traditional lands and waters which continue to be important to them today and into the future. .
