Srinivasa Rao filed an application for grant of Quarry lease for Gravel over an extent of 1.133 ha in Sy. No.162/2 & 162/3 of Thotapalli Village, Agiripalli Mandal, Krishna District in favour of Sri M. Srinivasa Rao for a period of 5 years. The Assistant Director of Mines & Geology, Vijayawada vide Lr. No. 4606/Q/2016 dated 09.02.2017 has submitted proposals on the application duly recommending for grant of quarry lease. After careful examination of the proposals of the Assistant Director of Mines & Geology, the Deputy Director of Mines & Geology vide Notice no.339/Q3/2016 dated 02.03.2017 has agreed in principle to grant a Quarry Lease for Gravel, over an area of 0.838 Ha in Sy. No.162/2 & 162/3 of Thotapalli village, Agiripalli Mandal, Krishna District for a period of 3 years in favour of Sri M. Srinivasa Rao subject to the submission of approved mining plan as required under Rule 7A (i) of APMMC Rules,1966 along with Environmental Clearance as per EIA Notification S. O.No.1533 (E) dated 14.09.2006 and CFE,CFO from APPCB. (Annexure-I) Sri M. Srinivasa Rao has approached M/s. B.S.Envi-Tech (P) Ltd. vide Regn. No. RQP/HYD/243/2005/B to preparation of Mining Plan in the above mentioned area. Accordingly this mining plan is prepared as per guidelines issued in Form-T in G.O.Ms No.56 Industries & Commerce (M.II) Department, dated 30.04.2016 under Amended Rule 7A of APMMC Rules 1966 and Progressive Mine Closure Plan under Rule 23(B) of MCDR1988 and submitted to the Deputy Director of Mines & Geology, Kakinada for approval. The subject report presents the Environment Management Plan detailing themeasures proposed to be implemented by Sri M. Srinivasa Rao. Brief Description of the Nature of the Project. Project is Gravel Quarry located in an area of 0.838 Ha. Gravel Quarry of 8680 m3/Annum is produced by means of conventional method of opencast mining through drilling, blasting, loading and shifting through dumpers/tippers before crushed. EMP Report 2.0 LOCATION OF THE QUARRY AREA: M/s. M. Srinivasa Rao – 0.838 Ha is located at Sy. No:162/2,162/3, of Thotapalli Village, Agiripalli Mandal, Krishna District, A.P. The Quarry Lease Area is a part of the Survey of India Toposheet No. 64/D/14. Nearest railway line connecting Vijayawada - Rajahmundry of South Central Railway line, at a distance of 8.9 km to S direction from the Quarry Lease Area. The nearest railway station is Gannavaram RS at 8.9 km in SE direction. There are no wild life sanctuaries, national parks, elephant/tiger reserves within 10km radius of the study area. The general slope of the terrain is towards South East. Locally the applied area is called as Meraka Polam. Topographically the applied area is a plain land located in between the small hillocks in North East and West Side. With near-by Standard bench mark as basis, a temporary bench mark was set up at the boundary pillar no “A”, which is at 73.2m RL, on whose basis the GPS coordinates of all the four corners of the lease area were arrived. 2.2 Geology and Exploration a. Brief description of Regional Geology with reference to location of lease/applied area The Eastern Ghats Supergroup comprising Khondalite and Charnockite Groups is exposed in the central part of the upland area. The Khondalite Group of rocks are seen as prominent hill ranges (strike ridges) south of Vijayawada, extending towards north and northeast. They consist of quartz, k-feldspar, garnet sillimanite, graphite, with or without corundum. In the northeastern part, a number of calc granulite and quartzite bands are present, within khondalite. Geologically the area belongs to Khondalite group of Easternghat Super Group of Archean Rocks. The deltaic alluvium is grey brown to black in colour with fine to medium texture and poorly permeable.
