DIVISIONAL FOREST OFFICER CHILIKA WILD LIFE DIVISION, BALUGAON, KHORDHA ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE IN DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS CASE. On the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Alok Ranjan Hota, DFO, Chilika Wild life Division, Balugaon, Khordha, his (1) triple-storied building at Chandrasekharpur Bhubaneswar, (2) single-storied building at Dumduma, Bhubaneswar, (3) double- storied building of his relative at Dumduma, Bhubaneswar, (4) house at native village Chasikhanda, Jagatsinghpur, (5) house of relative at Poumapur, Khordha and (6) office room and temporary residence at Balugaon were simultaneously searched on 10.8.2020 by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar. In course of search and inventory, Sri Alok Ranjan Hota, DFO was found in possession of assets worth Rs.1,00,32,551/- (Rupees One Crore Thirty-two Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-one) including one triple-storied building, one single-storied building, one four wheeler, two numbers of two wheelers, deposits in different banks and post offices, investment in insurance policies, gold and silver ornaments, cash over 1 Lakh and household articles. After search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Hota was calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of Rs.77,47,551/- (Rupees Seventy-seven Lakhs Forty-seven Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-one). As Sri Alok Ranjan Hota, DFO, Chilika Wild life Division, Balugaon, Khordha was found in possession of huge disproportionate assets which he could not account for satisfactorily, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No.22 dt.11.8.2020 was registered against Sri Hota U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b) of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 for detailed investigation. In course of investigation, today i.e. on 11.8.2020, Sri Hota was arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar. The Hon’ble Court remanded him to judicial custody till 24.8.2020. Investigation of the case is in progress. Sd/- Supdt. of Police (Coordination), Vigilance Directorate, Cuttack. .
