In all cases Metrobus has played a part in identifying the locations where the greatest level of need exists, and therefore where the greatest benefits can be achieved. New positions for bus shelters to be relocated: The Mardens, Coachmans Drive South, Nash Road, Braintridge Road, Ambulance Station, Charcoal Burner, Langley Parade, Crawley Business Quarter, Manor Royal, Coachmans Drive Central Realtime Passenger Infromation systems at: Three Bridges Station (Stop A), Crawley Bus Station (Stops D and F), Nash Road, Tilgate, Charcoal Burner Corner, Furnace Green, Martyrs Avenue, Langley Green New shelters at : Brandon Close, Evans Close, Balcombe Road, Fenchurch Road, Warren Drive (outside 88), Ridley's Corner, Creasy Drive East, Creasy Drive South, Ellman Road, Whistler Close, Weirbrook. 3 Future Scheme Priorities Members are requested to identify scheme priorities in order to plan the expenditure of the funds below. It is suggested that Members should consider the development of Town-wide strategic schemes, as well as smaller improvements local to the development. 3.1 Broadfield: Assuming the above allocations are supported there is some £71,445 remaining to be allocated from development in Broadfield. 3.2 Langley Green and West Green Electoral Division Assuming the above allocations are supported there is some £241,065 remaining to be allocated from development in Langley Green and West Green Members are requested to identify scheme priorities in order to plan the expenditure of this money Councillors have previously identified the following schemes: • a potential junction improvement scheme consisting of the provision of traffic signals at the junction of Ifield Drive and Ifield Avenue and on the A23, Ifield roundabout. See also 3.3 below • a cycle route from Langley Green to Ifield. 3.3 Gossops Green and Ifield East: It is likely that Crawley Borough Council will soon be in receipt of a contribution of some £200,000. Members are requested to identify scheme priorities in order to plan the expenditure of this money Councillors have previously identified the following schemes: • a potential junction improvement scheme consisting of the provision of traffic signals at the junction of Ifield Drive and Ifield Avenue and on the A23, Ifield roundabout. See also 3.2 above • a cycle route from Langley Green to Ifield. Officers have developed a cycle route from Ifield Drive to the Town Centre via the Dingle, which would be part funded by Crawley Borough Council. The total scheme cost is £90,200. The total sought from Section 106 is £66,380. See also 3.4 below. 3.4 Southgate and Crawley Central Crawley Borough Council has received some £9,375 and will soon be in receipt of a contribution of a further £30,550. Members are requested to identify scheme priorities in order to plan the expenditure of this money Officers have identified a possible Safer Routes to School project at Hilltop Primary School which would cost some £13,000. A member of the public has requested a number of dropped crossings on Brighton Road between Springfield Road and Asda. This will enable users of mobility scooters in this area to access the local shopping facilities. This is likely to cost approximately £5000. Officers have developed a cycle route from Ifield Drive to the Town Centre via the Dingle, which would be part funded by Crawley Borough Council. The total scheme cost is £90,200.
