APR presents Corey Flintoff - International Correspondent, Moscow corey flintoff has spent nearly 40 years as a radio journalist, serving most recently as NPR’s correspondent in Moscow. He covered the increasing authoritarianism of the Russian state under Vladimir Putin, the seizure of Crimea, defense concerns in the Baltics, and the downing of Malaysian Air Flight 17. As a Moscow correspondent, Flintoff’s coverage included many countries of the former Soviet Union, including Russia, Ukraine, the Baltic states, Kazakhstan, and Georgia. He has covered the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Ukraine, the earthquake in Haiti, the revolution in Egypt, and the revolution and civil war in Libya. He covered Southeast Asia from New Delhi in 2010-11, before taking over NPR’s Moscow bureau in 2012. Flintoff retired from NPR in September of 2016, and is now at work on several writing projects.
