The Department has closed its One Penn Plaza offices and its 90 New York City-based customer service representatives, engineers and accountants will now work out of the 90 Church Street location. "The move to Lower Manhattan maintains the Department's decades-long presence in New York City where dedicated staff provide important consumer services to utility customers," said Public Service Commission Chairman William M. Flynn. "We are pleased to be a part of the effort to rebuild and reinvigorate Lower Manhattan. The Department's New York City employees will help bring new life and vitality to Lower Manhattan and help spur continuing downtown revitalization efforts." Effective January 24, 2005, the Department of Public Service will close its office at One Penn Plaza and relocate to 90 Church Street, NY 10007-2919. The Department's main consumer contact and complaint phone numbers will not change as a result of the relocation. Consumers statewide can still reach the Commission's Office of Consumer Services at 1-800-342-3377. TDD users can reach the Office of Consumer Services by dialing 1-800-662-1220. Also, consumers can access the Commission's Web site at http://www.dps.state.ny.us for answers to questions or to file a complaint. Many libraries offer free Internet access.
