Fraser Seitel Estes Park Institute Fellow Health Care Communications Fraser Seitel is a public relations counselor, author, teacher and commentator. As managing partner of Emerald Partners, he has counseled hundreds of executives, including many in the health care field, over four decades in all aspects of communications work. PR Week Magazine named Mr. Seitel one of the “100 Most Distinguished Public Relations Professionals of the 20th Century.” Mr. Seitel has appeared extensively on radio and television as a communications expert, on such programs as ABC Evening News, Fox News Channel’s The O’Reilly Factor, Fox and Friends, Special Report and At-Large with Geraldo Rivera; CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront, Inside Politics and Larry King Live; MSNBC’s The News with Brian Williams; and NPR’s On the Media. Mr. Seitel is also an Adjunct Professor at the New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies. In 2010, he was awarded the school’s Teaching Excellence Award. The 14th edition of his book, The Practice of Public Relations, used in 200 colleges and universities, will be published by Pearson in 2019. He is also co-author with Steve Rivkin of IdeaWise, published by John Wiley in 2002, and Rethinking Reputation, co-authored with John Doorley, published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2012. Mr. Seitel was a communications manager with The Chase Manhattan Bank for more than two decades. As Chase’s director of public affairs and senior vice president, Mr. Seitel was responsible for all aspects of Chase’s international financial communications. In his two decades at Chase, Mr. Seitel personally counseled three generation of Chase chairmen – David Rockefeller, Willard C. Butcher and Thomas G. Labrecque.
