There were 19 people in attendance, and each person gave a 30 second presentation about their business an what would be a good lead for them. Our featured speaker was James Barrow, an acupuncture physician with Balancing Point. Jim gave a very informative and entertaining presentation, complete with demonstrations on eager volunteers! Our next meting will be April 4th, II:30am, at the Maitland Art Center and Gene Downing ofThomas Ruff Fumiture will be our featured speaker. There were 14 in attendance. It was such a beautiful day that we held the meeting outside in the garden area. Pam Wells from the Art Center catered the delicious lunch for us. The topic for our one-minute commercials was "A Song That Describes My Business...". Some used well-known tuens, some sang, and some changed words of songs to fit their business. It was fun! Doug Moore from Moore Financial Services was our featured 10-minute speaker. He provided useful information about the Tax Act of2001 and its impact on us. The next meeting will be held at the Maitland Art Center on Tuesday, April 9, at 11:30am. Lunch will be $6.00. Members have ben asked to bring one or more items from the Wish List for the Safehouse of Seminole (a battered­ women's shelter and a Maitland Chamber member), and to use those items to describe their business. Ifyou need a copy ofthe list, please call Gini McLaughlin at 407-774-4040, and she will fax it to you. Items brought to this event will be donated to the shelter. This will be a great way for us to remember your business as well as doing a good deed in the community. Our guest speaker will be from the Safehouse of Seminole. Don't forget to bring a lead! What a museum!! I did not fully appreciate it until I walked through myself. This is a treasure that should be appreciated by all expecially those involved in the Chamber. Annual membership is only $15 and for myself, who has missed the culture ofthe North, I have found this to be money well spent. Great job Allison, we appreciate the hard work you adn your staffdo. Also ofnote, Jennifer Roth is running our team fro the Relay for Life contributions going to fight cancer. I am committed to having a team from the Chamber and we are only 4 team members short.
