23 August 2010 Shatin to Central Link Roving Exhibitions and New Website

PR079/10 23 August 2010 Shatin to Central Link roving exhibitions and new website launched A series of roving exhibitions are being held at various MTR stations and major landmarks across multiple districts to gauge public views on the Shatin to Central Link (SCL). At the same time, a brand new SCL website (www.mtr-shatincentrallink.hk) is launched to provide more user-friendly information on the SCL. “We understand that the travelling public would like to know more about the Shatin to Central Link during its planning stage,” said Mr Henry Lam, General Manager - Shatin to Central Link. “With the exhibitions and our new website, we wish to share more information with the public and to listen to their views. This will allow MTR to build this new railway to meet the needs of the community.” The 17-km SCL will provide an integrated rail network for the New Territories, East Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. Not only will it bring convenience to commuters, the new rail link will also provide much-needed relief to traffic congestion in the areas not yet served by railway.
