This class is full of fun activities to develop a safe progression of technique and focus on articulation, strength, complex coordination and exploration of different dance styles. This six week course will cover salsa dancing which originated in the 1970s in New York City, influenced by dance styles from Cuba and Puerto Rico. It will also include Bachata, a style of dance that originated in the Dominican Republic, the Rhumba, a ballroom dance of Afro-Cuban folk dance origin that became internationally popular in the early 20th century and the Cha-Cha, a dance of Cuban origin.
