Cheshire West and Chester Council Additional grant schemes Following the announcement by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in the 2018 Budget, Cheshire West & Chester Council has used the additional £3.525m of funding for local highway maintenance according to the principles set out in the authority’s approved Asset Management Strategy. These take into consideration customer needs, local priorities and asset condition. This funding has enabled us to deliver the following schemes and associated works: An additional 28 carriageway resurfacing schemes An additional 18 preventative maintenance schemes Supporting the authority with the existing highway maintenance backlog across the highway network which has included pothole repairs.
