The boundaries of the Geopark are determined by the territories of the nine municipalities that are included in the Rocca di Cerere UNESCO Global Geopark: Assoro, Aidone, Calascibetta, Enna, Leonforte, Nissoria, Piazza Armerina, Valguarnera, Villarosa. You will learn about the art of honey and cheese production, growing and harvesting saffron, how to make real homemade bread and share experiences on the day life of local farmers. Green itinerary: It is the colour of the natural reserves that are also located in high concentration in the central areas of Sicily. You can get engaged in different initiatives and projects to conserve the biodiversity of the area, discover the environment, natural reserves and geological monuments in cooperation with local associations and environmental guides. You can also explore the old route of transhumance accompanied by animals, visit farms and participate in workshops in cooperation with local artisans and people. Blue itinerary: It is the colour of water and life; the colour of the rivers that feed the mills; the colour of the monumental fountains and of the lakes that offer to a volunteer the opportunity to practice outdoor sports activities such as fishing, canoeing, trekking, biking, free climbing, birdwatching.
