His retirement takes effect from 10 th November and he is expected to leave the Rectory by the end of that week. Father Godfrey has served our two villages for over thirty years and many of you will have personal experience of his vocation during that time. We all wish Godfrey and Valerie a very happy retirement and much happiness in their new home, with lots of time to visit the family in France. Sadly his retirement party will have to wait but please remember them in your prayers. As a Parish we now move into a period of “interregnum”, or “vacancy” where we will have no parish priest for an extended period of time. As churchwardens we will try to keep you informed about the Diocesan plans for the church here, which is under consideration as I write. The parochial church council and indeed the parish council are involved with this process of retaining the presence of a Priest in our villages in the future. Please feel free to contact one of the three churchwardens with any matter relating to our three churches. We are maintaining weekly services conducted by visiting priests during the vacancy. The church Annex has now reopened and is available for hire.
