CARTWRIGHT There are 2 separate cemeteries known as PLACE Bly. The new Bly Cemetery was first used 2. PARKER in 1901 and abandoned about 1945 (undated PLACE statement in a letter). This new cemetery was about 2 miles west of Bly, on the north side of OR. Hwy. 140 near the Ivory Pine Road junction. It was on the edge of a pine grove on the Monte Cline Ranch. (Not shown on Bly 1986 USGS Quad. map.) SLY [OLD] A ? ? 1874-1901 ? The old Bly Cemetery was described as being "on a hill close to Bly settlement." Six or seven burials were known and most, but not all, were reburied about 1902 in the new Bly Cemetery. (Not shown on Bly 1988 USGS Quad. map.) Casey, died 16 Sept. 1897 and wife Jennie, died 5 Nov. 1901, are on what was the Casey Place, on a hill on the west side of Poe Valley. Leave OR. Hwy. 140 onto South Poe Valley Road. Go 6 miles, then turn right (west) onto Webber Road at a 90 degree turn. Go west on Webber Road 1.3 miles to its end. (Not shown on Dairy 1985 USGS Quad. map.) COPPERFIELD FAMILY ? ? ? ? ? ? 7 Reportedly this family cemetery is near Chiloquin. No other information was given in the report. (Not shown on Chiloquin 1988 or Agency Lake 1985 USGS Quad. maps.) There are 3 known burials now covered over by the Crystal Creek Lodge parking lot on the west side of the road. T36S R7E 815 Indian children are buried just north of Modoc Point, east of U.S. Hwy. 97. There are no markers in a fenced area which contains about 10 burials. (Not shown on Modoc Point 1985 USGS Quad. map.) ETERNAL HILLS D 20.4 1 ? T398 R1OE S18 MEMORIAL GARDENS Located east of Klamath Falls, at 4711 Highway 39; 1 mile south of the junction with OR. Hwy. 140, on the left side. (Altamont 1985 USGS Quad. map.) FORT KLAMATH MEMORIAL C 1.1 2 1863 T33S R7 1/2E S22 Near Fort Klamath Junction on OR. Hwy. 62, just west of the junction with Sun Mountain Highway and on the south side of the road. The earliest existing marker is 1876. The military occupied Fort Klamath from 1863- 1889. There were 59 soldiers buried here: all were supposed to have been moved to the Presidio in San Francisco, but bones are still found here. (Fort Klamath 1985 USGS Quad. map.) FRIENDSHIP C 1.13 3 1870 T34S R7E S34 AKA: 1. FRIENDS This is mostly an Indian cemetery located at Chiloquin. From the Chiloquin Highway junction in town, turn south onto 1st Street and go 1 block to Schonchin Street. Turn left (east), go up a draw and over the ridge top for about 1 mile. Three burials are behind a house on the hill (5 Oct. 1985). NOTE: This site is on private property. (Whiteline Reservoir 1985 USGS Quad. map.) GOODMAN CHILDREN A ? ? 7 T395 R125 Perhaps in Section 30, 6 miles east of Bonanza on the Sanford Jones Place. Drive 4.7 miles from Bonanza on the East Langell Valley Road, then turn hard right onto Jones Lane and continue another 0.5 of a mile. The graves are probably on the left (south).
