Pangasiwaan Sa Pagpapaunlad Ng Kalakhang Maynila (Metropolitan Manila Development Authority) METROPOLITAN MANILA COUNCIL MMDA Resolution No. 15-15 Series of 2015 A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND ACKNOWLEDGING THE INVOLVEMENT OF METRO MANILA MAYORS AND THEIR CONSTITUENTS AS WELL AS THE PARTICIPATION OF ALL PRIVATE SECTORS, LEGIONS, MEDIA, SCHOOLS AND OTHER NON-GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATIONS, FOR THE SUCCESSFUL LAUNCHING OF THE SHAKE DRILL EXERCISE THAT TENDS TO INTENSIFY PUBLIC AWARENESS IN TIMES OF CALAMITIES AND DISASTERS WHEREAS, the MMDA, pursuant to Republic Act 7924, is mandated to formulate and implement programs, policies and procedures to achieve public safety especially preparedness for preventive or rescue operations during times of calamities and disasters; WHEREAS, the MMDA, is likewise mandated to formulate procedures and policies in the coordination and mobilization of resources as well as in the implementation of contingency plan for the rehabilitation and relief operations in coordination with the' national agencies concerned; WHEREAS, in cooperation with the Metro Manila Mayors and their constituency as well as the private sectors, legions, media, schools and other non-government organizations, a series of disaster preparedness programs in various areas in the Metropolis, intensifying public awareness in times of calamities such as earthquake, has been launched and initiated, WHEREAS, the overwhelming support of the Metro Manila Mayors and their constituency and the active participation of the private sectors, legions, media, schools and other non-government organizations resulted in the effectual and successful launching of the MMDA Shake Drill Exercise. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved as it is hereby resolved, the Metropolitan Manila Council hereby commends and recognizes the overwhelming support of the Metro Manila Mayors and their constituency as well as the active participation of the private sectors, legions, media, schools and other non-government organizations in the successful launching of the Shake Drill campaign.
