Centuries before the Incas rose to power, other advanced civilizations had prospered in Peru, building stone temples and palaces that rivaled Machu Picchu in sophistication and beauty. Evidence of these fascinating cultures is on display at the Museo de Arte de Lima, the starting point for a thrilling journey I hope to share with you. Please join me next spring for a weeklong exploration of millennia of Peruvian arts and culture, from 3,000-year-old Chavín artifacts, to astonishing Baroque churches, to contemporary paintings and music.
