Mrs. Bennet’s priority in life was to have her daughters married. On page 3 of Pride and Prejudice, Austen describes Mrs. Bennet; “The business of her life was to get her daughters married; its solace was visiting and news.” One example of Mrs. Bennet demonstrating this priority was when she manufactured the situation where her eldest daughter, Jane was forced to spend the night at Mr. Bingley’s home, in hopes that they may grow closer to one another. Mrs. Bennet may love gossip, but her main motivation in life is having her five daughters set up with husbands. *** Once a week you will be submitting a section of your Pride and Prejudice project via TurnItIn.
