News From “The Hill” Head of School Blog Dear TSA Parents / Grandparents / Guardians, A great week on “The Hill.” Weather has improved even though we dismissed early and had a late arrival. This week calls for warmer temperatures - YAHOO! We have been talking about the “eight essential life skills students need for success.” The first was problem solving skills, the second critical thinking, the third emotional intelligence (EQ), the fourth values and ethics, the fifth resourcefulness and resilience, the sixth creative processing, and last week analytical writing. This week we want to talk about “Leadership Perspective.” It is the final “essential life skills” as addressed in Dr. Elmore’s Marching Off the Map. Leadership ​ ​ skills are something every student needs and should strive to learn about and ultimately exhibit. As a student, leadership is exhibited when one has the courage to do the “right thing.” It is a leader who shows integrity and honor. Service before self. Tenacity, perseverance, and grit are all necessary for leaders. Tenacity. Supports.
