Majority of cases were in the 04 to 10 years age group. All cases treated symptomatically and isolation done. Health education given. Cases of fever with rash reported from Indiranagar, UHC Sec 24, District Gandhinagar.District. District RRT investigated the outbreak. Majority of cases belonged to 2-5 years of age Gujarat Under 3. Gandhinagar iv. Measles 8 0 26/11/14 02/12/14 group. No history of prior measles vaccination. A total of 05 control serum samples collected and sent to BJMC Ahmedabad out of which 04 were positive for Measles. District RRT investigated the outbreak. Consumption of contaminated water could be the probable cause of outbreak. 02 stool samples collected and vii. Acute Under Haveri Diarrheal 15 0 30/11/14 03/12/14 sent to referral lab Shimoga, tested negative for cholera control Disease culture.02 water sample tested and found to be non potable. Chlorination of water source done. Alternate water supply provided & chlorine tablets distributed. Health education 5. Karnataka given. Cases of fever with joint pains reported from Village Megoor, PHC Holealur, Taluk Ron, and District Gadag. District RRT investigated the outbreak. 03 samples collected and sent to viii. Chikungun Under Gadag 39 0 02/12/14 04/12/14 sentinel lab NVBDCP Gadag. Out of which 01 was found to ya control be positive for chikungunya by IgM ELISA. Kerala Wayanad 18 0 28/11/14 07/12/14 and sent to medical college Kozhikode tested negative for poisoning control cholera culture. 01 water sample sent to Kerala water authority found to be non potable Medical camp organized in the area and all the cases treated symptomatically. Health education given. Cases reported from Village Aroda, CHC Mundi, Block Punasa, District Khandwa. District RRT investigated the outbreak. Aedes larva found in water along with adult aedes mosquito in houses. 35 blood smears were examined, and all x. Chikungun Under Khandwa 35 0 04/12/14 06/12/14 were negative for malaria.04 Serum samples were collected ya control and sent to MGM Medical college Indore out of which 03 samples found to be positive for chikungunya by IgM ELISA.Temephos applied to water bodies and indoor spraying 7. with pyrethrum done. Health education given. Cases reported from Village Mojwadi Dhana, CHC/Block Madhya Khalwa, District Khandwa. District RRT investigated the Pradesh outbreak.27 blood smears were examined, all were found Under Khandwa xi. Malaria 27 0 01/12/14 01/12/14 positive for malaria. 26 Tested positive for P Falciparum and control 01 for P Vivax. Focal spraying with DDT done. Chikungun Under Sehore 50 0 04/12/14 05/12/14 slides were negative for malaria. 05 serum samples collected ya control and sent to DMO Bhopal, out of which 03 were found to be positive for Chikungunya. Health education given to the people in the affected area. Cases of fever with rash reported from a hostel in Navapur Urban, District Nandurbar. District RRT investigated the outbreak. All the cases were from same hostel. A total of 09 Under 8. Maharashtra Nandurbar xiv. Measles 15 0 27/11/14 02/12/14 serums sent to NIV Pune and all were to be found positive for surveillance Measles. All the cases were isolated. Outbreak response immunization started. District RRT investigated the outbreak. The probable source of infection was consumption of water from a Under 9. Odisha Koraput xv. Dysentery 0 30/11/14 03/12/14 nearby open dug well. All the cases were treated 37 control symptomatically. Well water was tested by H2S test which was non potable and OT test showed low chlorination. Disinfection of well and the tanks done. No human samples were sent. Cases reported from 27 Colonies of Sodala area of Jaipur City. District RRT investigated the outbreak. People of all ages are affected. All the cases occurred within a period of 2-3 days and presented with yellow discoloration skin, sclera and urine. A total of 63 blood samples were tested at SMS Hospital out xvi. Hepatitis A Under Jaipur 79 0 02/12/14 02/12/14 of which 48 were positive for Hepatitis E and 01 for Hepatitis & E control A. 27 water samples were tested at Jaipuria Hospital and all were found to be potable. House to house surveillance done in the area. Medical camps organized in the affected areas. Health education regarding safe drinking water practices was Rajasthan given. 10. Cases reported from Ginnani area of Bikaner city, District Bikaner. All the cases had history of developing diarrhea; vomiting and abdominal pain after drinking contaminated water. A total of 02 stool samples and 01 vomitus sample xvii. Acute Under taken and sent to SPMC Deptt Bikaner and E coli were Bikaner diarrheal 17 0 04/12/14 05/12/14 control isolated from stool while vomitus contained no pathogenic disease organism.
