Let’s Make Nasi Goreng! Try this recipe for Indonesian fried rice with your family. Yum! Did you know that Indonesia is made up of more than 17,000 islands? It’s true! That’s a whole lot of islands, and a lot of people live there. Indonesia is the fourth most populated country in the world, and approximately 700 languages are spoken throughout the country. More than 500 of those languages don’t have any part of the Bible yet. That’s a lot of people waiting to learn about how much God loves them! Mack and I want to share a delicious recipe for nasi goreng, or Indonesian fried rice. Try making it for dinner with your family sometime, and when you eat it, remember to pray for the many languages in Indonesia that need to get the Bible so that people can learn about Jesus. Nasi Goreng 2. Remove from skillet and dice into small chunks. 3. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over high heat. This traditional Indonesian fried rice can be a meal Add garlic and chili, and cook until the garlic or a side dish. It’s often served with a fried egg, smells yummy. and it’s delicious! 4. Add the onion and cook until soft. 5. Add rice and kecap manis (or soy sauce with Ingredients honey). (If you can’t find kecap manis in the grocery store, just add 1 tbsp of honey to 3 tbsp of soy sauce.) Fried rice is best ü 1 bunch green onions (about 4-6), thinly sliced made with day-old rice that’s been refrigerated. ü 4 eggs (optional) If you don’t have that, at least wait for the ü Cherry tomatoes (optional) rice to become room temperature before ü Cucumbers (optional) adding to the skillet for best results.
