Solid colors were mainly worn. A wool serape or poncho may be worn as well. Felt or straw hat and scarf would be worn as headgear. -Sutter’s Indian soldiers wore white pants, blue shirt, and a red scarf as shown in the last image. -Mexican military officials such as General Vallejo or General Castro might wear their military uniform while visiting the Fort, as shown in the second image.
