Our 1st visit to her grave in Marietta City Cemetery was moving for my wife Susan and me. So sad, this little 13 year old girl was on her way to the 1913 Confeder- ate Memorial Day parade but she never arrived. A Georgia state(?) historical marker near Mary's grave site is not nearly as informative as the marker (shown in photo) next to her tomb- stone. It states Leo Frank was convicted of her 1913 murder , but was pardoned in 1986. "The 1986 pardon does not exonerate Leo Frank for the murder of Little Mary Phagan". Another marker is "erected by Marietta Camp no. 763,U.C.V. As the Georgia Division of the Son of Confederate Veterans proclaimed, each June 1st is Little Mary Phagan Day. I urge my brothers to visit.
