TRADITIONAL CAMPS We offer exciting camp experiences across many areas of interest designed to promote physical activity, teach new skills, and challenge kids to reach 3 Civic Center Camp F ME and grow and to make new friends. Here’s a little more about our staff: x Staff members are primarily adults and college students with a few 5 Play Camp high school students assisting x All staff members are CPR and first aid certified x Staff are knowledgeable and well-trained SPORTS CAMPS x All staff members go through criminal background check x 5 Basketball Camp Emergency and safety procedures are reviewed on a regular basis x 5 Soccer Camp Staff members are available to answer your questions at any time x We maintain low staff to camper ratios to provide the best experience CAMP INFORMATION CAMP 6 Cleve Indians Baseball Camp possible 6 Fencing Camp REGISTRATION 6 Volleyball Camp Camp registration begins Monday, February 1 for Mentor Residents and 7 Cheer Camp Thursday, February 4 for nonresidents. All Camps require pre-registration. 7 Golf Camp/League Registration for camps close 1 week prior to the start of the camp week to ensure that our staff can prepare necessary paperwork, verify supplies and maintain the correct staff to camper ratios. To register for a camp by deposit, please contact the Recreation Department 10 Fun in the Kitchen office at (440) 974-5720. The deposit option is not available for online regis- 10 Kid’s Crafty Camp tration. A deposit option is not available for the the Full 9 Week Camp option. RESIDENT REGISTRATION BEGINS COMMUNICATION FEBRUARY 1 The Friday before each scheduled camp week, parents and campers will receive information by email with a reminder of where camp is held, what NON-RESIDENT REGISTRATION BEGINS to bring, as well as any updated information you might need to make your FEBRUARY 4 camp experience the best. You will also receive an Information & Emergen- cy Form that will need to be completed and turned in to the camp director the first day of camp. It is important that parents provide a valid email ad- dress upon registration so that we can deliver this important information. CAMP REFUNDS / CHANGES Please choose your camps carefully. Full refunds will only be granted if a camp is cancelled by the City of Mentor. An administrative fee of $25 will be assessed per person per camp for any changes made to camp reg- istrations. Changes will include participant cancellations, refund requests and/or transfers. Changes must be made one month prior to the start of camp. Camp changes and partial cancellations cannot be applied to the Full 9 Week Camp option. If changes are requested, the camper will be withdrawn from the Full program and waitlisted/registered for individual camp weeks. CAMP CIRRICULUM On rare occasions, we may need to change the start time or location of a camp. We contact registered participants by email as soon as possible to notify of parents of the camp change. TIPS FOR CAMPS: For all camps: Wear loose, comfortable clothing and tennis shoes (no san- dals) each day. Also, to stay properly hydrated, each participant will need to bring a water bottle with his/her name on it to camp every day. Weekly maximum is 40 campers and we fill often! Our largest and most popular day camp, Civic Center Day Camp has three different age-based camps to choose VENTURES Grades 2 & 3 from. All camps meet Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:15 Camp is for children who have completed 2nd or 3rd Grade by June 1 p.m. daily at Civic Center Park, a 90-acre park located in the heart of the Mentor Civic Center complex, where campers Instructor: Recreation Camp Staff have access to daily swimming, open green space, tennis, bas- Location: Civic Center Park ketball and more!
