Tim Paffen (TU/e) 2015 – 2017 Daily supervision and mentoring 5 students (BSc, MSc, PhD) with research projects in the Aizenberg group, Harvard. 2015 – present Community Board Member of the Royal Chemical Society Materials Horizons journal. 2014 – 2017 Chairing bi-weekly subgroup meetings on adaptive materials in Aizenberg group. 2014 – 2016 Multiple guest lectures in course on bio-mimicry on Massachusetts School of Art and Design, Boston, USA 2010 – present A variety of scientific collaborations: Prof. S.I. Stupp, Northwestern University (USA), on the assembly of peptide amphiphiles, leading to a joint paper in JACS. Collaborations within in the Meijer group during my PhD, resulting into 4 papers published (2x Angewandte Chemie, JACS, Chemical Communications). Collaborations with researchers at other universities (Spain, India, Germany, China, Netherlands) on the mechanisms of self-assembly, resulting into papers in JACS, Chemical Communications and Chemistry European Journal. 2010 – present Reviewing manuscripts in the field of chemical self-assembly and materials science. 2010 – 2014 Co-guiding 2 MSc students in graduation projects, and guiding 3 BSc students in research projects, in the Meijer group. 2012 – 2014 Chairing bi-weekly subgroup meetings on supramolecular chemistry systems in the Meijer group. 2011 – 2012 Chairing and co-organizing Meijer research group meetings. 2010 – 2014 Being responsible for maintenance of circular dichroism spectrometers, UV/Vis spectrometer, fluorescence spectrometer and stopped-flow equipment in the Meijer research group.
