WHAT YOU NEED TO MOVE-IN NECESSITIES TO BRING AT CHECK-IN ● Extra-Long Twin Linens/Blankets (36” x 80”) ● Pillow ● Towels ● Clothing hangers ● Alarm clock ● Power stip with surge protector ● Ethernet cord ● Heavy gauge, UL-approved extension cord ● Co-axial cable for cable TV ● Laundry supplies ● Toiletries ● Desk lamp ● School supplies i.e. pens, pencils, paper, etc. ● Small wastebasket ● Wall saver removable power putty or strips/blue painter’s tape ● Cleaning supplies ● Hand-held or mini-vacuum ● Flashlight ● Emergency supplies (Visit: www.redcross.org or www.cdc.gov). DO NOT BRING *see below for kitchen appliances ● Outdoor grills ● Landline phones or answering machines (won’t work) ● Weights ● Skateboards ● Pets ● Immersion heaters ● candle/incense/oil lamps ● Heat lamps/ sun lamps ● Halogen lamps or bulbs ● Electric blankets ● Electric heaters ● Kerosene heaters ● Picture hangers/nails/double backed stick ups ● Air guns, toy guns, BB/pellet guns, paint guns or water pistols ● Weapons including any knife with a blade longer than 3 inches, or knives that are not designed/typically used for kitchen applications ● Drums ● Amplifier or amplified musicals devices without headphones ● Power tools ● Spray paint ● Dartboards ● Hover boards ● Fireworks ● Gasoline ● Lighter fluid ● Compressed gasses ● Real Cut trees, corn stalks, hay, straw bales ● Stoves ● Hover boards *Kitchen Appliances: Kitchen appliance allowances vary based on room-type. We recommend roommates, suitemates and apartment-mates coordinate on allowable appliances: Apartments (Hillside, Westhill, Terrace, Walker Avenue): ● The following items are not prohibited in apartments: ○ Toaster ovens, George Foreman grills and rice-cookers are only allowed in apartment kitchens ● The following items are prohibited in apartments in addition to the prohibited items list above. Do Not Bring: ○ Refrigerators: Residents living in apartments are provided with a refrigerator. No additional refrigeration units may be added ○ Microwave ovens, toasters/toaster ovens, George Foreman counter-top grills, Rice-cookers, Hot pots/plates, Coffee Pots without auto-shutoff feature Residence Halls (Susquehanna, Potomac, Patapsco, Chesapeake Halls) ● Refrigerators: residents living in the residence halls may have 1 refrigerator, up to 4.3 cubic feet, in each bedroom ● Microwaves are not permitted in residence halls (note: Micro Fridges are permitted) ● See Residential Life website for Micro Fridge rental information ● The following items are prohibited in apartments in addition to the prohibited items list above.
