Media information NO.168/2020 Note to editors: Changes at Volkswagen Communications • Nicole Mommsen named new Head of Corporate Communications • Robin Aschhoff assumes responsibility for Communications at the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand Changes at Volkswagen Communications: Nicole Mommsen takes over as Head of Corporate Communications for the Volkswagen Group and the Volkswagen brand effective August 1, 2020. She succeeds Dr. Marc Langendorf, who left the company at his own request on May 1, 2020. Nicole Mommsen reports to Peik von Bestenbostel, Head of Volkswagen Group Communications. Communications is also realigning its management structure in light of the recent changes in the Volkswagen brand Board of Management. The new Head of Communications at the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand effective July 1, 2020, is Robin Aschhoff. In this function, he reports to the CEO of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, Ralf Brandstätter. Nicole Mommsen Robin Aschhoff Nicole Mommsen trained as a journalist and has worked inter alia for Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger, Chicago Tribune and the international news agency Bloomberg News. These posts were followed by various roles in communications at Deutsche Post DHL, the strategic advisory firm Brunswick, and the science and technology company Merck. Nicole Mommsen has been Head of Corporate Communications DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) at Goldman Sachs since October 2016. PAGE 1 OF 2 Robin Aschhoff trained as a journalist and began his career at Volkswagen in Business and Corporate Communications in 2009. He then held various senior roles in communications at Volkswagen’s Czech subsidiary ŠKODA from 2010, inter alia as Deputy Head of Brand Communications. In 2017, he assumed overall responsibility for communications coordination at the Volkswagen brand, also performing the same function for the Group from 2018.
