CBM QUARRY PROJECT - BRIEF SUMMARY The building Stone Quarry (Minor Mineral) mining expansion project of M/s Cochin Blue Metal Industries Pvt. Ltd. is situated at Survey Nos. 1/1, 1/2, 1/2/1, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/7, 2/1, 2/2, 2/3, 2/4, 2/5, 2/5/1, 2/6/1, 3/1, 3/7, 3/9/1, 4/2, 4/3/2, 4/11, 5/1, 5/2, 5/3, 5/4, 5/5, 8/2, 8/2/1, 8/3, 8/4, 9/1, 9/2, 9/3, 9/5, 9/7, 9/8, 9/9, Block No. 26, Ramapuram Village, Meenachil Taluk, Kottayam District, Kerala for an area of 10.0552 hectares. The project proponent posses Letter of Intent (L.O.I.) for an area of 10.0552 hectares issued by Mining & Geology Department, Govt. of Kerala. Mining projects of minor minerals with area less than 50 ha. of mining lease are categorized as category 'B'. As per O.M. dated 24/12/2013 by Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India, all projects with mining area less than 25 hectares is classified as Category B2. The Eco-friendly Mining Plan prepared by an Indian Bureau of Mine (IBM) approved Recognized Qualified Person (RQP) has been approved by Mining & Geology Department, Govt. of Kerala. This Mining plan is based on the requirements under the Kerala Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2015. The part of existing quarry project is already accorded with Environmental Clearance from SEIAA, Kerala vide Order No. 67/SEIAA/KL/7904/2012 Dt. 23/05/2013 for lease area 4.8910 ha and for production of 2,94,000 TPA. The land for the proposed quarry is private owned land and the land is possessed in the name of M/s Cochin Blue Metal Industries Pvt. Ltd.. The targeted production of mine will be 2,50,000 MTA. The estimated project cost will be Rs. 3.0 Crores. The expected life of mine estimated will be of about 20 years.
