It plays a significant role in the socio-economic development of every region of the country including the state of Jharkhand. With a view to improve railway infrastructure and to extend the railway network in Jharkhand, Ranchi Railway Division was formed in the year 2003. The Government of Jharkhand always extends necessary support and cooperation to Indian Railways towards development of the state and improvement of services for the people. Godda Shivpur Sanki Tatisilwai Map not to scale In a mission mode, railways have achieved many visible milestones in Jharkhand in the last seven years in different fields i.e. construction of new lines, doubling, development of stations etc. On the freight side, loading has reached a new milestone where the potentiality of the state enriched with minerals played the lead role. The changing face of transport sector in Jharkhand and the expectations of its people are being fulfilled with topmost priority. In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, Indian Railways is playing a significant role by taking various measures to combat the situation. With a view to contain the spread of Novel Coronavirus, Indian Railways is producing PPE Kits, Reusable Face Masks, Hand Sanitizer etc. In addition, coaches have been converted to COVID Care Centres. Some of the recent achievements of railways and ongoing projects parliamentary constituency-wise in the state of Jharkhand are being highlighted in this Pamphlet. It may be noted that the budget allocated to various projects is not apportioned state wise but ref lects the cost of the project. WORKS COMPLETED IN LAST SEVEN YEARS: B.1 Infrastructural Developments: u Electrification of BG Line between Garwah Road to Meralgram and Meralgram to Wyndhamganj at a cost of Rs.49.40 crores u Electrification of BG Line between at a cost of Rs.27.32 c r o r e s u 2nd line commissioned from Garhwa Road to Nagar Untari (45 Km) u CCTV has been installed at Daltonganj, Garhwa Road for Surveillance system under Nirbhaya Fund u Electrification of 108.293 TKM including 62.023 TKM of Garwah Road-Meralgram- Renukut has been commissioned B.2 Passenger Amenities u Improvement of waiting room, retiring room, circulating area and new VIP room at D a l t o n ganj,and Nagaruntari u Replacement of platform coping by provision of 3M wide PCC at Meralgram u Improvement of platform surface and provision of two way platform shed at Garhwa Road u Provision of Goods Shed at Daltonganj u 2 toilets at platform No.23 at Daltonganj u Raising of platform No.1 as high level at Garhwa Road & Nagaruntari u Toilets for Dibyangs at Garhwa Road, Garhwa Town & Nagar Untari u Provision of 1 Water Cooler of 160 ltrs.
