Town of Duxbury Police Department www.DuxburyPolice.org NEWS RELEASE July 3rd Event Road Closures Duxbury – July 1, 2021 Duxbury residents and visitors should anticipate some travel delays on July 3, 2021 due to events scheduled to take place town. Annual DEF July 4th Road Race: Saint George Street at the School Complex, Washington Street at Saint George Street, Powder Point Ave, and King Caesar Road will be closed to vehicle traffic starting at 7:50am until approximately 9:30am. There will be no access to the Powder Point Bridge during this road closure. Those wishing to travel to and from the Beach area can do so through Duxbury Beach Park via Gurnet Road. 4th of July Parade: - Bay Road from Hall’s Corner to Bayridge Lane will be closed to all traffic starting at 10am - Washington Street from Harrison Street to Hall’s Corner will be closed starting at 11am - Washington Street from Harrison Street to Saint George Street will be closed at 12pm - Saint George Street from Rail Road Ave to Washington Street at approximately 12:45pm - Alden Street from Rail Road Ave to Saint George Street at approximately 12:45pm - Traffic entering and exiting Standish Street should expect delays. - One way traffic into Halls Corner on Depot Street will begin at 11am - One way traffic exiting Halls Corner on Chestnut Street will begin at 11am - All traffic in Halls Corner will be shut down briefly at 12pm as the Parade starts. Roads along the Parade Route will be opened as the parade travels the traditional route and crowds dissipate enough to safely allow vehicle traffic to resume. Chief Stephen R.
