School Programs FAQ What you need to know: Advanced booking is required for both guided and self-guided programs. Pre-visit packages and resources are available on the museum's website. All programs have a 15 student minimum. For the safety and comfort of all participants, please note that class sizes must be adhered to. For Grade 1- 12 classes, the maximum is 30 students, while Preschool and Kindergarten programs have a maximum of 20 students. Please contact us to discuss accommodating larger groups. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the program start time. Chaperones, supplied by the group, must accompany in a ratio of one adult per 10 students. One adult is free with every 5 students and additional adults will be charged $5.25 each. Parking is free for drivers of school groups but require a parking pass (available from Visitor Services). Indoor lunch space is available on request. Teachers can preview the museum for free prior to their program. Please provide advanced notice of your visit and bring your teacher ID. Cancellations made within one week will result in a $50.00 charge. Groups will be billed the full amount for programs if a “no-show” occurs CANCELLATIONS and for education kit rentals if there is a failure to pick up. Late returns for & education kits will result in a charge of $25.00 per week. Late arrival could result in the cancellation of your program. DAMAGES If items are damaged during programs or education kit rentals, a replacement fee may be charged. Programs can be paid on the day of your visit at the front desk by cash, PAYMENT credit card, debit card or cheque. The day-of payment will be based on the actual number of children and adults you have with your group. The role of adult supervisors is very important to the success of the program. Please help our docents and staff by doing the following: Stay with your assigned group throughout the visit. Help keep the students together. GUIDELINES FOR Escort the students to the washroom if needed. ADULT HELPERS Assist with the distribution and collection of program supplies. Help supervise the students while climbing ladders. Enforce our no food or drinks policy during programs. Please turn your phone on silent and refrain from using it. Please give the students an opportunity to answer the questions.
