KEY TO THE CITY The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Key to the City is a symbolic honour traditionally presented by the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mayor at a public ceremony. The honour recognises civic contributions or an outstanding achievement a person from Kalgoorlie-Boulder has made on a national or international level. Recipients are chosen based on their achievements in their field, the positive impact they have made to the Kalgoorlie-Boulder region and the sense of pride they have brought to the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community. Key to the City entitlements The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Key to the City is a symbolic honour that does not afford any entitlements. The recipient is presented with a symbolic key and certificate. It is a way for the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder to acknowledge the achievements made by people from Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Key to the City Recipients: 1994 – Dean Kemp Presented by Mayor Ron Yuryevich AM RFD. Dean Kemp, former West Coast Eagles player, won the Norm Smith Medal for being Best on Ground in the 1994 AFL Grand Final against Geelong 2018 – Dominic Sheed Presented by Mayor John Bowler. Dom Sheed, West Coast Eagles player, kicked the winning goal for the West Coast Eagles in the 2018 AFL Grand Final against Collingwood.
