The view is just breathtaking and will surely mean that you hardly want to stray from this perfect holiday cottage! However, the beautiful white shell beaches will lure you away to explore, but Beachcombers will always be a warm and welcoming base to return to. The island of Eriskay has been made famous in the book and film Whisky Galore and the owner of the cottage was fortunate to find one of the long buried bottles of whisky from the sunken SS Politician. The bottle is now under glass and displayed in the cottage - an amazing piece of history. The island of Barra is just a short ferry trip so easy to visit in a day and here you can see the planes landing on a cockle shell beach - subject to tides of course! South Uist and North Uist are connected by a causeway so it is easy to tour both islands during your stay and those wishing to sail from Skye to North Uist can then drive down to Beachcombers in under an hour and a half. The cottage was newly completed in early Spring 2016 and offers comfortable and welcoming accommodation with the luxury of 3 bedrooms and 3 shower rooms. In addition there is a second cottage, identical to Beachcombers and called Rockpool, close by.
