CITY OF HASLET 101 Main St., Haslet, TX 76052 817-439-5931 | 817-439-1606 FAX www.haslet.org | www.hasletedc.com CITY OF HASLET PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 12, 2016 HASLET HIRES CITY ENGINEER The City of Haslet, Texas, is proud to announce the employment of Mr. Travis Attanasio P.E., CFM as the City’s first full-time City Engineer. Mr. Attanasio attended the Colorado School of Mines, considered one of the most elite engineering schools in the nation and consistently ranked in the top 100 rankings of universities according the U.S. News & World Report. Mr. Attanasio obtained a bachelor’s of science degree in Engineering with a Civil Engineering Specialty in May 2002. Exactly one week after graduating from college, Mr. Attanasio moved to Texas to begin his professional career, where he has been since. He has worked for private consulting firms in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Mansfield, TX, specializing in all types of private development and public infrastructure work. Travis has helped design components of several large scale, highly visible, projects in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex including AT&T Stadium (Home of the Dallas Cowboys), The American Airlines Center (Home of the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars), Toyota Stadium (Home of FC Dallas), and DFW Airport. Additionally Travis has multiple years of design experience in single family residential, retail pad site development, capital improvement projects, stream hydraulic and hydrology modeling, and master planning. Travis’s titles include being a Certified Floodplain Manager and a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. Mr. Attanasio is an active member of the Fort Worth Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) where he currently holds the position of President of the Branch. The American Society of Civil Engineers represents more than 150,000 members of the civil engineering profession in 177 countries and is the nation’s oldest engineering society. Locally the Fort Worth Branch serves 29 Texas Counties and over 1,000 members. Mr. Attanasio was originally born in Long Island, New York, but moved to Colorado at a very young age, where he lived until 2002. From 1995-2002 Mr. Attanasio was a volunteer firefighter for Inter Canyon Fire/Rescue. He started in the junior firefighter patrol program at the age of 15, and at age 18 obtained his state firefighter certification. Mr. Attanasio will begin work with the City of Haslet on January 19, 2016.
