PENNSYLVANIA ASSOCIATION 2021 Benjamin Franklin RecognizingAward outstanding for service Excellence to the news media industry in Pennsylvania Purpose of the Award Previous award The Benjamin Franklin Award recognizes individuals who have performed an outstanding service to his/her newspaper, to the news media industry in general, to recipients: his/her local community, or to the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association that Ed Kruger, Altoona Mirror reflected positively on the news media industry in Pennsylvania. (Nominees may Teri L. Henning, former president, include news media owners and employees, legislators, community leaders, Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association business leaders, and university/college administrators.) Brad Bumstead, The Caucus Gene Foreman, retired, The Philadelphia Inquirer TheAward criteria Criteria for this award is flexible to accommodate a wide range of circumstances Mark Segal, Philadelphia Gay News and situations. Some examples would include: David Erdman, former publisher y How well a candidate reacted in times of a natural disaster and editor-in-Chief, The Morning Call, y Undertaking a legal battle for his/her newspaper Allentown y Lobbying efforts for a news media cause John Baer, Philadelphia Daily News y Innovative methods of selling, marketing, or producing newspaper products John P. Kameen, The Forest City y Outstanding community, college, or non-profit service News The work for which the candidate is being nominated should be current within the Joseph T. Wingert, Bucks County past one to two years. Herald James E.
