At the same time the stark realisation probably crossed ail our minds that the season was more than two-thirds over with fixture lists devastated and huge backlogs of matches to bemadeup. 1 know that our friends from Cumbria have experienced greater difficulty than ourselves in selecting a side to visit us this evening. We are pleased that they have been able to surmount the many hurdles strewn in their path. The games between the Under 21 XV's have always been keenly contested with both sides making serious attempts to play open Rugby. Judging by the success of this year's Schools' Under 18 XV, Cumbria have a wealth of talent in the pipeline. If their projected visit to Kenya comes about it will most certainly serve to forge a strong tcam for the future. We wish them weil in this exciting venture. To return to tonight's encounter. The Wilmslow Club had no hesitation in giving us permission to come here. Their Officers and Committee are firm believers in encouraging the game at ail levels. We thank them for their interest and unswerving support and hope that together we shall enjoy an exhilerating spectacle. J.M. Young (Chairman) Vladivar from Varrington.~.
