As we have entered 2019, we have the distinct honor of celebrating our bicentennial. On January 21, 1819, the Ohio General Assembly passed an act to create Meigs County. The offi cial formation of Meigs County, the elec- tion of the fi rst county offi cials, and the fi rst county meetings, would not occur until April 1819. The Meigs County Bicentennial Committee has several events planned throughout the year with a weekend cele- bration starting April 27, 2019 at 10am with a parade.
