The exchange rate at the end of a specific year was used to convert the domestic currency to euros for the period prior to the introduction of the euro. In some tables, the amounts are shown in millions or billions of euros, which is marked separately. The growth index rates are calculated as the ratio between the data for the selected year and the data for the previous year, without taking inflation into account.
